Welcome to Retrieving Wings
Congratulations on taking a step toward caring for your mental and emotional well-being.
If you're here, you may be wondering whether this is the right space for you or someone you care about. Reaching out for support is often not an easy decision, and it can come with uncertainty, hesitation, or even a little apprehension. Whatever brought you here, you're welcome.
Perhaps it would help if I told you a little about myself.

About Me
Before I tell you about my therapeutic approach, let me tell you a little about myself.
My name is Tarika Modi. I am an introvert by nature, and perhaps because of that, I have always been drawn to observing and understanding people deeply. Over the years, this curiosity has become one of my greatest strengths as a therapist.
I tend to notice the subtle things—the slight shift in your posture, the pause before a response, the smile that doesn't quite reach your eyes, or the emotions that seem difficult to put into words. These moments often tell a story that words alone cannot.
My goal is not to analyze or judge you, but to understand your experience as fully as possible and create a space where you feel seen, heard, and accepted just as you are.
Outside the therapy room:
I am also an active martial artist. A large part of my life revolves around either supporting my clients, training on the mats, or squeezing in yet another certification that helps me grow as a therapist. So if I'm not working, there's a good chance I'm learning something new, attending a workshop, or trying to survive a particularly challenging training session.
You might occasionally find me showing up with a bruised shin, a sore toe, or the aftermath of a training mishap. Thankfully, the therapy space remains entirely focused on you and your experience.
Martial arts has taught me lessons about resilience, patience, humility, and showing up even when things feel difficult. These lessons often find their way into my work, alongside the knowledge I gain through my professional training and continuing education.
When I'm not working or training, I enjoy spending time in nature, watching Netflix, sitting quietly with a cup of tea, or having long conversations with people I care about. I appreciate a good dark joke, enjoy learning almost anything that catches my interest, and can be either wonderfully silent or surprisingly talkative depending on the day and my energy levels.
At the heart of it all, I am someone who is deeply curious about people, their stories, and what helps them heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves.

Client Stories
"I’ve been working with Tarika for over a year and a half now, and the clarity and insight I’ve gained through our sessions have been truly transformative. Her gentle, empathetic approach made me feel safe and understood from the very beginning. I always felt I could be completely honest and open without any hesitation. She has created a space where I can show up exactly as I am, and that has made all the difference. Anyone who gets to have Tarika as their therapist is genuinely fortunate."

I have been getting therapy from Tarika since 2022. She was the first ever therapist I spoke to and got lucky that it was a good fit.
With her help, I have developed some critical skills over the years and it has improved my life remarkably. I am able to deal with my anxiety so much better now. With her I feel like I have taken back some power. I have learnt how to draw boundaries, identify and take care of my needs. It has been an amazing journey of learning.

I really wanna thank you, Tarika, for all these years of therapy - something caught me off-guard a few weeks ago, and I thought that I will react the way I have been for years
But, there was a change without any force - A part of me showed up and was present for myself in such a dominant way that whatever it was passed on its own in a healthy way in a day or two
I wasn't trying to fix anything, just be present and do whatever we do in sessions
Wouldn't have been possible without you. I feel at home within myself more often these days. Thank you so much!
